I'M HAPPY TODAY!

I'm happy today. I'm feeling much better about this transition. I'm understanding it more. All of the support has helped me so much. My sister lock friend called and encouraged me once again....right on time. I spoke with my loctician, who by the way, did a great job. Thank you, Stacy. I've already referred her. I appreciate the support I've received from everyone...it's truly amazing. I feel strong, thankful and empowered. It's been a constant battle to stay consistent in the gym. My workout regime is finally showing my hard work! Thank you all....

Wow!!,
Your SL texture and length reminds me of my hair before I Big chopped it. Your SLs are very neat and meticulous.... Do you have relaxed ends??I really can't tell from the pic. Can't wait to see your progress........

Then on second thought, I can see some relaxer peaking out at the ends...

I'll have to put a before pic (natural and pressed). My hair has no chemicals on it. The last time I had a relaxer,(about 20 years ago), my complete scalp burned and I lost all my hair. After that, shampoos and oils would burn my scalp just like the chemical. Since that time, I use baby shampoo and no oils....it was the wierdest thing. I am concerned how the SL Shampoo will affect me...my fingers are crossed.

Hi,

I'm not a blogger, but I've had my SLs for almost 5 months and continue to love them more and more. When I saw your comment about the baby shampoo, I just wanted to let you know that my SL consultant recommended that I use baby shampoo instead of the SL starter shampoo. It's something she's recommended over the years for new SL wearers whose scalps are very, very sensitive. Based on her advice after observing my scalp during the starter locks and then the installation, I've never used the SL starter shampoo, only baby shampoo diluted with water in a spray (mist) bottle. She continues to monitor my hair and scalp during my retightenings and everything is going well. But by all means, please check with your consultant first!! Your SLs are absolutely beautiful.

All the best,
mogirl

I got my last perm in June after 5 months with braids. Anyone know how long I have to wait before getting the sisterlocks installed? I spoke with a loctitian who suggested waiting until December or January (2 inches of new growth)... its tough to wait that long but if i have to, what else can I do with my hair? I really don't want braids with extensions so right now, all I do is braid my hair down in 2 rows a-la Cynthia Mckinney and its getting sooo old.
